Zion National Park, Utah Elopement: The Love Story of Tracie and Luke
Tracie and Luke met at the Crossfit gym and ran in the same circles as one another. In 2023, Tracie saw the Spicy Tie band, not realizing that was the band Luke was in. He waved to her while singing on stage and she waved back. It was a friendship that grew with every text and every hang out into more and more… and later blossomed into a deep love. The two bonded over Wisconsin cheeses (one of their snacks including a cottage cheese/Cheetos combo), the Green Bay Packers. and their love of music (Luke being in the band the Spicy Tie and Tracie as an active music lover). They also bonded over their love of travel! Some of their travels including Banff National Park, Paris and Sedona. Due to their adventurous nature, these two adventurers wanted to elope on the cliff sides of Zion National Park in Southern Utah before they had their intimate ring ceremony and reception back home in Wisconsin with their immediate family and friends.
At Roaming Desert Film Co we were able to work with them to create a timeline that best suited their elopement needs and here is how their EPIC day turned out!
The Airbnb
The couple stayed in Springdale, Utah just outside the park in the units next to the beautiful Canyon Coffee shop - one of our favorite coffee shops in Utah! This was perfect because their balcony had great views where we could do the first look of the bride and groom, and they were really close to many restaurants, bars, shops and coffee spots for the remainder of their trip, just outside Zion National Park. Not to mention, there is a free Springdale shuttle that takes you directly to the Zion shuttle in the park.
The Ceremony
The couple wanted to marry inside of Zion National Park and one of the areas that allows marriages to happen is at the Zion Lodge in the main lawn. We took the Zion shuttle up to stop number 5 and married the two in front of large tree at the Lodge.
Everyone in the shuttle cheered as the bride and groom exited and it was so fun seeing the tourists of the park supporting Luke and Tracie on their big day!
Zion Canyon Overlook Portraits
We took the shuttle back down to their Airbnb and touched up hair and makeup since it was 95 degrees on this March elopement day! Then after some snacks, refreshments and AC, we drove the couple up to the Zion Canyon Overlook Trail where we took some gorgeous bridals in various locations along the hike. Here we stayed to watch the sunset and take in the amazing views.
After the sun had set, we drove the couple back to their Airbnb where they enjoyed Coronas and pizzas to conclude their night. Eloping is so great because then you can honeymoon in the park you just married in! That’s exactly what this couple did setting up hikes in the Narrows and all around the park before they headed back home to Wisconsin.
It ended up being such a magical elopement day with such great vibes!
