Western Retreat hosted by Shy Photography

Sometimes you hit a lull in your creativity as a photographer and need a pick me up to inspire you once again. This Western retreat hosted by Shy Photography was just the ticket for me! I loved it so much and made some amazing new friends in the photography world.

Here is what we did the on the retreat and some stylized shoots we had the opportunity to work on!

Day 1

The photographers arrived at The Ranch at Wild Rose in Alton, UT. It was so gorgeous and we were able to do stylized shoots right on the property. The ranch has a pond, pastures, cows, and gorgeous views.

We used horses with some couples shots, as well as a cute boat photoshoot in the pond.

Day 2

On day 2 we woke up early to go to Bryce Canyon National Park. This is my favorite Utah national park because of the variety of colors in the red rock and the unique rock formations.

We also went out to a ranch in Panguitch, UT and took headshots of each other with the horses. Then it was western shoots at sunset, complete with a cowboy style dinner around the campfire.

Day 3

We bundled up and took side-by-sides up a mountain to a foggy lake, where we watched the sun rise.

When we drove back down to the ranch we had French toast and eggs and then headed over to a cattle pin for cowboy and branding photos.

THE MOST FUN

All I can say is that this was the most fun I have had with photography in a while. I loved adventuring, learning, collaborating and making so many new friends. It was a trip for the books and I can’t wait to go back next year!
