WHY YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT BOOKING A WINTER PHOTOSHOOT

Call me Lorelai Gilmore, but there is something so magical about the snow. I think that becoming a photographer made me love it that much more!

Funny story, one of my favorite memories was traveling through Iceland in the middle of winter. There had to be about 5 feet of snow on either side of us while we drove. Although it was tricky to navigate, that snow-covered landscape, blanketed in white, remains to be one of the most incredible sights that I have every witnessed.

Whether it is for the snowy white aesthetics or the beanies, I wait all year for it. and I love nothing more that capturing couples and families alike during their winter photoshoot.

A UTAH PHOTOGRAPHER’S THOUGHTS
ON SNOWY PICTURES

Often times, I find that some people are discouraged from documenting their life during the snowy season. However, let me be the first to tell you that booking a winter photoshoot is one of the best things you can do!

I want you to picture something for me.

Are you ready?!

Imagine ice skating with your love as it’s snowing or grabbing a blanket and going on a sleigh ride. Bring out your inner child and make a snow angel or throw snowballs at one another.

During the snowy season we can also embrace the concept of Hygge - a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).

Winter is the perfect time for storytelling!

Grabbing a cup of hot cocoa in your coziest of sweaters by the fire is simply magical. Or, together, you and your photographer can grab your favorite mittens for a winter picnic in the snow,

As a photographer, I have to mention that the lighting of winter is super unique! The light being reflected on the snow-covered hills is simply magical.

I promise that you won’t regret booking a winter photoshoot.
