A Zion National Park Elopement: The Love Story of Jesi and Tyler

Like all great modern romances, this one began…with a Facebook friend request. Not just any request though - Tyler, being the gentleman that he is, asked Jesi’s mom for permission first and after careful preperation, he followed up with the smoothest, most original line of all time, “Hey, how’s it going?'“

Somehow that simple line was the beginning of everything. They lived 40 minutes apart and had to drive a bit to see each other, but they made it work, and even took a trip out to Acadia National Park that sparked an interest in exploring together.

Tyler proposed to Jesi at Disneyland, and she never saw it coming, but of course she said, “YES!” They ended up eloping in Zion National Park and did their honeymoon in the remaining Utah parks of the Mighty 5. Here is their love story!

Getting Ready

Jesi and Tyler got ready for their elopement day at a beautiful log cabin in Orderville, UT. They brought along their close family as their witnesses. It was such a laid back and amazing feeling with family slowly eating brunch. The kiddos watching television and the couple taking their time to get ready in a calm and easy going way! They got to cater and design their own day and that did not include the stress and business of a wedding day!

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the backyard of the Airbnb and officiated by our videographer, Cory! Friends and family cried with joy as the two shared their vows over the beautiful views of Orderville. Then the family enjoyed some barbecue together (Iron Horse Restaurant Catering from Kanab) after family portraits were taken.

We then drove the couple to Zion National Park where we made a few photogenic stops and did an easy hike overlooking one of Zion’s amazing views. At the top, the couple shared a quick picnic and we all took in the sunset together. We ended the day taking some headlamp pics in the cave-like spots of the trail. Then the couple went back to their family, changed into comfy clothes, and watched some football together for the perfect and relaxing ending to their special day.

After their elopement, they continued their honeymoon traveling across Utah and exploring the remaining Mighty 5 Utah parks they hadn’t seen yet!
