A Hockey Kind of Love

These two lovebirds grew up in the same neighborhood together and their love grew over one of their mutual hobbies - hockey!

Was this Northern Utah photographer thrilled to do a photoshoot with these two baddie hockey player clients? You betcha! Here’s how we planned their shoot!

Location: Tibble Fork

I usually do family or couple shoots around Tibble Fork Reservoir up American Fork Canyon, but I have never done an entire shoot on top of the frozen lake!

When it is a lighter snow year (or towards the beginning or ending of winter) the lake is available for ice skating and a patch of the lake is cleared off for hockey games. This is where our photoshoot took place.

Include the Gear

I love couples that choose to include their hobby in their photoshoot, and if this is the case, I always try to include their gear to tell their story more authentically.

You can incorporate their wedding ring with the gear (like the hockey puck) or even show the story of them laughing together while lacing up their skates.

When you include your passions in life in your photoshoot it better helps tell your story and makes it SO MUCH MORE UNIQUE!
