A Downtown SLC Photoshoot

Exchange Place, SLC, UT

When I first moved to Salt Lake City, fresh out of college, I moved into an apartment built in the 1800’s on second and second. I fell in love with my bay windows over the city and everything felt new!

This time consisted of trying new restaurants in the city, finding random murals or doors that inspired beauty, and it also consisted of lugging my laundry down the block every other week!

Here’s a few downtown SLC locations, and storytelling inspo from this Northern Utah photographer - who has really lived these experiences!

  1. Eva’s Bakery

Eva’s Bakery - grab a treat and some gorgeous shots at a vintage bakery with a pop of blue! I also love the through-the-window cafe shots! 🥐

2. Utah State Capitol Building

Utah Capitol Building - vintage vibes, embellished arches, old lanterns, grated ceilings, and a cute golden elevator! Not to mention the amazing lighting it provides at sunset off the verandas!

3. Exchange Place

There’s dancing at the Gallivan center, cute restaurants and bars, and this cute golden door for photo shoots!

4. Laundry Mat Inspo

Looking for a photoshoot that romanticizes the everyday, try one of SLC’s many laundry mats. This photoshoot was taken at Liberty Coin Laundry which is one of the spots I actually used to lug my laundry to when I lived downtown.

Other Recommends

Cathedral of Madeleine - love the stone towers, the embellished circular windows, and the classic cathedral look. ⛪️

Trolley Square - chance to stand in front of a wall of lights 💡, check out Weller Book Works, or grab some ice cream at the food truck.
