A Downtown SLC Courthouse Wedding | Everything You Should Consider

Can I tell you something? A Downtown SLC Courthouse Wedding? IT IS THE NEW BEST THING!

So, let’s talk about it.

Are you pressed for time or money and starting to think the courthouse wedding is right for you? Or do you have new military orders and a time crunch?

Whatever your reason, this Northern Utah Wedding Photographer thinks the quickie courthouse wedding can be FABULOUS and absolutely stunning for photos! Not to mention, Salt Lake City has lots of awesome vendors and photoshoot locations for such an occasion!

Hi! I am Tana, and, as I mentioned, I am a Northern Utah Photographer whose home base is the Salt Lake City Valley. Here are reasons why the courthouse wedding could be right for you.

Getting the Right Dress for Your Courthouse Wedding

Always dreamt of a cocktail vintage-inspired dress with a veil?
Me too!

The courthouse cream puff wedding is the perfect excuse to go thrifting and find something cropped, slim, or truly unique to tie the knot in!

Adding some thrifted clothing to your courthouse wedding could give it a unique touch while also being budget-friendly. It's also a great way to help the environment by giving gently used clothing a new lease on life. You can look stunning on your big day while making a positive impact.

Whether you are wanting a Gatsby-style dress, cowboy boots for your yee-haw “I do”, a ‘50s poodle skirt wedding dress, or a wedding dress that Audrey Hepburn would shed a tear for, check out Decades Vintage Clothing downtown in SLC.

They will make all of your vintage wedding dress dreams come true!

The Downtown SLC Location of a Courthouse Wedding

When you get married at the courthouse that means you are downtown! What is more grogeous than the wonderful textures and backgrounds of a downtown wedding photoshoot? Or, if the skyline is more your style, climb on top of a parking garage at sunset!

The Exchange Place Parking Garage is one of my favorite parking garages in the downtown area to shoot at because you get views of the mountains. You also get the view of Washington Square Park on one side and the SLC skyline on the other. In addition to this, it is right by the courthouse and yummy places to eat or go out after you sign your marriage license!

Your wedding day does not end when you sign the papers, have fun exploring the downtown.

PROFESSIONAL TIP: If you want an indoor photoshoot to document the moment, there are tons of studios downtown to rent for an hour to host your bridals/first look session like Studio Elevn or Lightroom Studio in Midvale, UT.

The After Party
in Salt Lake City, UT

If you are on a budget and don’t have a lot to spend on the venue…guess what?! Downtown can be your family and friends’ playground after you tie the knot!

Get a reservation at a restaurant, want to know my favorite? The Green Pig Pub has a rooftop bar and live music you can check out and it’s a block from the downtown courthouse!

Not to mention there are tons of clubs for dancing and celebrating the night away! Invite your friends and family to meet you at the club to continue the celebration.

Whatever you end up doing, don’t forget to honor that moment of your life. No matter how big or small, celebrate your love in your style!
