A Bryce Canyon National Park Elopement: The Love Story of Yara and Jonathan

Bride and groom embracing in front of Bryce Canyon red rock.

Yara and Jonathan met at work. They were on the same team, but had never met in person (only on Zoom work calls). Yara quoted Step Brothers and Jonathan paused the meeting to unmute himself, asking if Yara was quoting that movie. Then he said, "Did we just become best friends?"

They ended up becoming more than just best friends though. They bonded over cocktails, travel and adventure, and identifying various plants on their phone apps. Eventually they decided to elope in the beautiful landscape of Southern Utah in Bryce Canyon National Park with their closest friends and family. Here is their love story.

Getting Ready

Groom and groomsmen clinking their drinks.

The couple got ready for their day in two different airbnbs that they rented out nearby Bryce Canyon in Hatch, UT. The friends had brunch and drinks, watched football and started singing songs together!

Then the couple was ready for their first look, walking down the aisle (hiking path), in front of their friends and family in Bryce Canyon National Park.

Ceremony

They got married at Sunset Point along the rim trail of Bryce Canyon. That way family members that were less mobile could access benches to sit on during their ceremony. It began to lightly rain, so we handed the couples our umbrellas to get through the ceremony, but then the skies cleared.

Short Hike for Bryce Canyon Bridals

Then the couple hiked down the trail nearby the ceremony location. We overlooked the Navajo Loop Trail for some canyon wall photos and continued on down to Inspiration Point to over look the Bryce Canyon Amphitheater. There were stunning views and gorgeous moments for the couple to celebrate each other out in nature.

We concluded with some photos at Red Canyon, nearby Bryce so that we could get some drone footage of the couple for their elopement video!

Cake Cutting

Black cake that is decorate like an agate crystal rock for a wedding.

Finally we returned to the airbnbs so the couple could cut their gorgeous agate wedding cake in front of their family and friends. The couple then changed and watched football for their perfect ending to the rest of their day!
