5 Best Things to Do in Kanab
Kanab, UT has red rock, unique geological formations, and is packed with adventure. Here’s a list of the top things to do from this local Utah photo/video team!
Great Chamber and Peekaboo Slot Canyon ATV Tour
We toured with Expedition Kanab and had a great time learning about the land and seeing this massive hollowed out space on top of a sand dune! It was much bigger than I thought it would be!
2. Coral Pink Sand Dunes
Coral Pink Sand Dune Entrance Fee: $15 per vehicle
For Drone footage you have to get an $8 permit.
You can sled or snowboard here on wooden sand boards, but not if the sand is too wet from the elements. So, keep an eye out for that! 🌧️
The pink of the coral sand really looks beautiful at sunrise and sunset!
3. Belly of the Dragon
It’s a man-made tunnel that was designed as a water culvert under Highway 89.
It’s just a short hike through with epic views and family friendly. Bring your flashlights.
4. Bird Watching
February is a great time of year to go to Kanab and see the bald eagles coming through Utah. We saw so many different bald eagles on our trip and even a California Condor!
5. Toadstool Hoodoos
The Toadstool Hoodoo hike is a 1.5 mile hike with various rock formations in between Kanab and Page, AZ. Super worth the visit and dogs are also allowed on leash!
Night Photography
There are many vast and open spaces in Kanab to go camping and observe the stars so bring your tripod and camera if you are visiting the area!
Where to Stay
We stayed in a yurt on our trip in Orderville, UT at the East Zion Resorts - here. They also have tree top cabins and shipping containers to stay in as well!
Other Things to Do
Paria River Canyon and Vermillion Cliffs - need a lottery permit
