Things to do around St. George - Zion NP
Are you marrying in St. George or eloping at Zion National Park and need some activities for you and your friends/family to do on the days surrounding your BIG DAY? Well look no further!
Here is a guide from your photo and video team of activities to do around the St. George Area, from Roaming Desert Film Co.
Nature Hikes and Views
Zion National Park
Let’s start with the big one Zion National Park! This is why many come to visit St. George, Utah. Everyone comes to see how the Virgin River cut through layers and layers of rock forming the Watchman and other views of Zion’s cliffsides. Some of our favorite hikes to do here are:
4.7 miles, more of a challenging hike, but a great view from the top
1 mile round trip, great alternative to Angel’s Landing if you want a great view with an easier hike.
Riverside walk. Be sure to check weather ahead of time to avoid flash flooding.
3 mile out and back with views of the Watchman and the Virgin River.
2. Snow Canyon State Park
Snow Canyon State Park is one of my favorite state parks in Utah because it has such diverse landscape in just a short drive from one another, like the petrified dunes, Lava rock, and sand dunes!
You can also check out the Scout Cave hike which is a 3.5 mile round trip hike.
3. Sand Hollow Reservoir
Sand Hollow Reservoir is great for boating and water activities. There is also ATVing available nearby!
3. Gunlock State Park and Waterfalls
You can go to the Gunlock Reservoir and go camping, fishing, boating, or swimming, or you can visit the falls below for some gorgeous views.
Golf
St. George is known for its’ high-end golf courses like Sand Hollow, Black Desert Resort, Copper Rock and the Ledges. If you are on a budget and want a less crowded golf course we always go to Sunbrook Golf Course and have a great time!
