Rustic Barn Inspiration

Bride and groom kissing in front of barn with mountain views

I’m originally a midwesterner and love fields of wheat, sunflowers, and old barns. Naturally, I got married in a barn at Wheeler Farm in Murray, UT and absolutely love shooting a barn wedding! It gives the feels of a rustic charm, family coming together, and warm tones in your wedding photos. Here are some photos to serve as inspiration for your rustic barn wedding including barn locations, decor, ideas, food trucks and vintage touches to make your rustic barn dream wedding come true!

Hi there! We’re Tana and Cory Metcalf - a husband and wife photo/video team, located in Utah! We love exploring all that the world has to offer and taking our doggos and cameras along for the journey, as well!

My Favorite Barn Locations

Wedding Ceremony in apple orchard

This location has an orchard you can get married in, twinkling lights, mountainous views, goats on the property and is quiet and peaceful. Plus, the attendants, DJ and staff they have on hand are top shelf! This is a wonderful place to get married in Northern UT.

Walker Farms - Lindon, UT

This gorgeous white barn also has amazing mountain views from their outside area and amazing architecture inside. I also especially love the decor in the brides room!

Wheeler Farm - Murray, UT

Wheeler Farm is great if you are more on a budget (like I was when I got married) and it’s got stunning views of the mountains and old architecture and gardens on the property.

Barn Decor Ideas

Twinkling lights are always a phenomenal look in barns as well as flowers, vintage picture frames, vases filled with pine cones, anything natural, warm, or in the hygge style! Here’s some photo inspo of rustic barn decor ideas you can use!

Food Truck/ Photo Booth Inspiration

Couple walking forward in front of vintage bus

The Photo Booth Bus is a vintage Volkswagen bus that lets you have props for your guests in the trunk and take photos sitting inside the cabin. It was such a cute touch for this rustic barn wedding at Quiet Meadow Farms.

Another great idea is having a food truck at your wedding (tacos, ice cream, churros, bar on wheels, the list goes on). I loved this cookie ice cream sandwich tuck for its’ cute vintage look - The Penguin Brothers.
