Planning an Elopement with Roaming Desert Film Co.

At Roaming Desert Film Co., we believe elopements are more than a quiet alternative to a big and stressful wedding—they’re an intentional choice to celebrate your authentic story, your connection, and the freedom to celebrate love on your own terms. Booking an elopement isn’t about skipping tradition; it’s about creating space for meaning, adventure, and authenticity. Whether you’re exchanging vows beneath an endless desert sky, along a windswept coastline, or somewhere wildly personal to you, we’re here to document it with the same care and cinematic storytelling as any grand celebration.

From the first conversation to the final film and photos, our approach is rooted in presence and knowledge as your guides! Here is the basic outline of booking your elopement with us!

Getting on the Books!

The first step is actually getting on the books with Roaming Desert Film Co.

1. Submit an Inquiry form for your day here.

2. We’ll set up a Zoom call to go over your amazing vision, give you the opportunity to make sure we’re a good fit, and help guide you to find which package makes the most sense for your vision of the day.

3. Once that is decided, we’ll send over our contract and invoice. We do require a 25 percent deposit to secure your date as well as signing your contract.

Once You Are Booked

1. We’ll send you info on how to apply for your Special Use Permit, if you are eloping in a National or State park. This is probably the most important step so your date and ceremony time are secured by the national or state park you are eloping in.

2. We’ll create a customized timeline for you based on your wants and vision of your day. We can meet over Zoom to go over this timeline and make any changes needed up until the date of your elopement.

3. We include vendor recommendations for the area you are eloping in to help alleviate extra planning off of your shoulders.

4. If you are using one of us as your officiant, we craft a script about your story and finalize it with you before the big day!

5. We check in a couple weeks prior to your elopement to make sure we are all good to go and give tips on items to bring, like snacks, water, chapstick, appropriate clothing for the weather, so on.

Elopement Day

1. The night before your elopement we are sure to location scout and check trail conditions and weather, so we know what to expect. We’ll have a plan B if needed, and take the worry and stress off of your shoulders.

2. Then it’s time for your big day! We go through the itinerary of your amazing day, have some laughs and make some amazing memories along the way.

3. Then we send you home with a client gift and day-of polaroids of your special moments out in nature.

After Your Big Day

1. You receive a sneak peek of photos from your elopement within 24 - 48 hours.

2. The rest of your photos and video are carefully edited and artistically crafted and will be returned in 3-4 weeks via an online sharing gallery.

3. You can print directly from this online gallery OR have us do the work for you and design a photo book and video book that we craft, host a Zoom call to ensure it’s to your liking, and then print and send your way!
