Goblin Valley State Park and Hanksville, UT Photo Locations/Things to Do!

Goblin Valley State Parks’s unique rock formations are formed by erosion on Entrada sandstone. The harder bits of sandstone remain, while softer sandstone is taken away by weathering. It is such a unique place and has neighboring areas as well that are perfect for photoshoots, fun activities with the family. Goblin Valley State Park

Entrance Fee: $20 per private vehicle (National Parks Pass does not count)

Pet friendly: Yes, but dogs must remain on a leash

This park is so fun to roam around and explore the various rock formations with family, pets and friends. It is also a great place for photoshoots. Pack lots of water as the park can get hot in the spring, summer and fall!

2. Moon Overlook

Moon Overlook, near Hanksville, UT is an epic cliffside view. There is this rock that juts out for epic film and photo opportunities. To be honest, it is even scarier than it looks. I would not recommend doing this if the winds are high or the weather is bad.

There are still safer cliffside views all around as well for pictures or just taking in the scenery.

There are great dirt biking areas all around this location, as well! We took our truck to journey the bumpy road there, I would recommend a higher set truck or SUV for this trip!

3. Mars Research Station

Bright colors and mounds surround the Mars Research Station. Drone footage and public access, are not permitted anywhere near the Mars Research Station. Drone footage can be taken before you get to this point, or beyond the station, as well!
